Congratulations to the team for capturing the Men’s Point Trophy, Women’s Point Trophy, and Overall Point Trophy at the Massachusetts Public School State Championships on May 24.
On the girls side, the 1V8, 2V8, and 3V8 took first in their events. The 1N8 was second, the 2N8 was first, and the 4+ was fifth.
On the boys side, the 1V8, 2V8, and 3V8 finished 2nd, 1st and 1st. The boys novice eight was second; the novice four was third.
Congratulations to all for an excellent day of racing!

Wayland-Weston Crew looks forward to hosting a full day of competition for Boys and Girls Varsity Fours on Sunday, May 3, on our home course at the Wayland Town Beach. Participating in the regatta will be Belmont Hill, Brooks, Community Rowing, Deerfield, Groton, Lowell, Derryfield, and Winsor.

The lake is unfrozen, and we are on the water! Some updates and useful information:
1) A race has been added to our schedule on May 9–check the calendar and race schedule for an updated schedule.
2) What are your responsibilities as a rower? What can a parent expect on race day? There is a handbook to answer your questions–check Member Info, Documents/Forms, for the Wayland-Weston Crew handbook for athletes and parents.
3) Are you interested in how youth sports is evolving? Are athletes burning out too young? What is the role of the parent in a child’s athletic experience? What is it like to be an athlete in college? In the interest of providing information (i.e. we are not espousing any particular point of view) here are some resources–check Member Info, Reference materials, for two items on youth sports.

They are competing at the Crash-B Sprints World Indoor Rowing Championships this weekend.
CRASH-Bs (Charles River All-Star Has-Beens) are the original indoor erg race; the race is 2000m.
